Het Roer Om with Peter and Juliette
Dear friends, family, and followers,
The moment has finally arrived! On Tuesday, August 15th at 8:30 PM, we—Peter and Juliette—along with our children Novée and Lenny, will be featured in an episode of Het Roer Om on SBS6. This is a very special moment for us, and we can’t wait to share our adventure with you.
A Dream Come True
As many of you know, in November 2022, we decided to leave our life in the Netherlands behind. We sold our house in Castricum, our motorhome, and everything else, to embark on a new adventure. Our dream? To start a new life in the beautiful Normandy region of France, following our hearts and finding a place we could truly call home.
After our move, we spent six months in a mobile home on a closed campsite in Carentan. It was a period of reflection, hope, and patience. We searched for that one special house where our dreams could become reality. There were many viewings and offers, and sometimes we had to let houses go because they didn’t fit exactly what we wanted or exceeded our budget.
Our Dream House in Graignes Mesnil-Angot
Finally, we found the perfect house, located in the picturesque Graignes Mesnil-Angot. The moment we saw it, we knew it was the one. Situated along the stunning Marais, it offers breathtaking views that we enjoy every day. Surrounded by nature, cows wandering by, storks flying overhead, and a rich variety of birds calling the area home, it truly feels like paradise. In winter, the landscape even transforms into a huge lake—something you have to see to believe.
The Challenges of a New Beginning
Of course, such a big change comes with its challenges. In our Het Roer Om SBS6 episode, you’ll get a glimpse of our life here in France. How will Novée and Lenny adjust to their new school? How difficult is learning the French language? And what does it take to renovate an old French house and make it our own?
This adventure has taught us so much, not only about France but also about ourselves as a family. It hasn’t always been easy, but it has been worth every moment.
